💡Wrap up 2024, share your best books, and look forward to 2025 with these Instagram post ideas

A listicle of listicles because listicles are one the internet's simplest pleasures and should not be scorned

Listicles, reviews of our years, and ‘Best Of’ round-up posts tend to be some of the most popular types of content on the internet, regardless of the platform they appear on, and while this is in part because they’re easy to digest I also think it’s because as humans we are hard-wired to look for opportunities to connect over shared interests.

Listicles like ‘My Top Five Literary Reads’ are an invitation to see whether we’ve chosen the same ‘best ofs’; month-by-month round ups give us a peek into the lives of other three-dimensional, multi-faceted human beings; and reviews of our highs and lows allow us to connect over shared experiences, or just satisfy our innate curiosity about other people.

So, while this kind of content can feel over-done, especially at this time of year, in my opinion it is not to be sneered at which is why I’ve pulled together this listicle of listicles separated into three sections:

  • Post ideas for looking back

  • Post ideas for 2024 book round ups

  • Post ideas for looking forwards

The time stamps for where each section starts are recorded below at the start of each section so you can skip forward to the most relevant section for you.
