Welcome to Day Three of the WAKE UP INSTAGRAM Challenge - a week-long series of 10 min daily tasks to ‘wake up’ your Instagram account and get you back in front of your favourite people after you’ve been on a break.
TASK THREE
Listen to the audio, or read the instructions below, to join in ❤️
Set a timer for 10 minutes.
Go to your Account Page and click on your followers at the top of the screen.
For the next 10 minutes, dip in and out of accounts that follow you, but that you don’t follow.
Be liberal with your likes and comments and you might even share some posts to your own Stories if you find something that really speaks to you.
How does it work?
This is a great way to give people a nudge that you are back on Instagram, but is also a nice way to give back to the accounts who support you.
You might not want to follow all of the accounts that follow you, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ever interact with them or their content. Taking the time to like or comment on their posts is a generous, community-minded thing to do, as it will give the algorithms signals to show their content to more people. You can enhance this effect further by platforming other accounts and sharing their posts to your own Stories.
If you want to be more targeted than simply working your way down your list of followers, you could look at who has commented under your own posts in the past, and make sure you visit their accounts and give them some love in return.
I hope you’ve found this useful - let me know in the comments if you have any questions or thoughts. I’ll be back tomorrow with the fourth task of the challenge and I hope you’ll join me!
If you’re joining this challenge late, you can read all of the posts here.
